On June 9, 1981 my wife, who was expecting our second child, and my mother stopped in at Eddie’s Restaurant for lunch. This, of course, would be topped off by a dessert of coconut cream pie. They never got that dessert, as my wife realized she was going into labor and my mother rushed her to the hospital. A few hours after their lunch at Eddie’s our daughter Erin was born. There isn’t a time we don’t go to Eddie’s and remember that lunch. Sometimes we take our daughter there on her birthday.
